Low Vaccine Rates...
I do find myself getting annoyed at some of these extreme right wing commentators..one in particular comes to mind ๐ when they quote figures, it often seems, to suit their own agenda.
Now this particular person today is going on about how we, in
Australia, or should I say in mostly labour states strangely enough, are doing
things wrong when it comes to the dreaded Corona virus. This person states that
we should not be locking down people but open up everything. Don’t worry about
spreading the virus...it’s all okay...it will all work out and we’ll be
fine.
What this person doesn’t say is that at the moment here in Australia due to
a mix up, bad decision making or just plain shortage of the vaccines there are
so many stories and different reasons depending who you talk to, as to why and
just who to blame..anyway we have just around 7%, at this stage, of the entire population of over 25
million people fully vaccinated.
It should, of course, be more but that’s the situation at the moment and
that is not even mentioning the so called “anti vaxers”...that’s another
story!!
We are compared to Singapore, he goes on of all places, with a population
there of around 6 million and around half the size of Sydney! How can you
possibly compare us here with them there...it makes no sense to me at all!
Australia over 25 million people...Singapore around 6 million! Plus we here are
1,076,265 % larger than Singapore. 36% there in Singapore are fully vaccinated.
Then he states ah but in Florida under a republican, strangely enough, they
don’t lock down people everything is open and free to wander around and not shut
down businesses as we do here. What he fails to states is that THEIR population is
also highly vaccinated in fact 46% are full vaccinated the breakdown of figures
is age 18 and up 56%...age 65 and up 78% that’s fully vaccinated against our around 7%.
So figures can be adjusted...made to look great against ours but it really
doesn't compute.
I know I shouldn’t get annoyed but at times these right wing people do ”get
my back” up...really!
