I had a laugh to myself recently leaving Chemist Warehouse. Maybe that’s when it hit me...in  the bag I had some rheumatism cream and a box of 'Just for Men'. If you don’t know what 'Just for Men' is well you’ll just have to find out. Unless they pay me for advertising it that is??? It sells out quickly enough.
And rheumatism cream...well that speaks for itself!

Vain? Who said that! I call it just called looking after yourself...or in other words making the best of what you have...or just maybe getting older and not wanting to admit it!.
 
There are creams and lotions we, or I should say I, no I guess many, apply to protect us from this harsh Australian sun and to help with the ever appearing wrinkles or I should say to stop the ever appearing wrinkles appearing in the first place!

The teeth whitener...no for real teeth not false heaven forbid! I really don’t like the look of yellowing teeth oooh it makes me shudder;  also I have tried to look after my teeth over the years. My dentist always says ...10 out of 10 Michael for care... when I have my 6 monthly checkups😆🙏
 
Funny getting older...I mean I really don’t mind...well there’s nothing we can do about it is there might just as well make the most of it and go along for the ride. Also just to be grateful for still being here!
 
Well if we don’t look after ourselves what is there? Really....

Trouble at both ends of the scale......

Firstly //    It's called "elder abuse" and it seems to be growing for some unexplainable reason.  In some cases it's neglect...pure and simple... but in most it's stealing money that isn't yours from parents that are not able to look after themselves, or their money, properly. Often without them even knowing until it's far too late. Maybe as money becomes tighter for some...but even then that's no excuse!  Just reading about a case locally where a son living in another state stole...yes stole... over a million dollars from his elderly mother. Transferring the money from her account over a period of a few years and also used her debit card in unauthorised purchases for his own use. Leaving her with very little in her bank account to survive. She had no idea until it was almost all gone. Really who can you trust if you can't trust your own family...beyond belief really isn't it but it seems this is a common occurrence. More common than we think.

Just day dreaming....

  Just a pleasant quiet place I like to sit and ponder on things. Where I've been, where I'm going, you know the usual stuff. Watching the world go by as I sit under the shade of a tree listening to the birds singing and appreciating life around me. It's been a long and often bumpy ride to where I am today and who knows what tomorrow may bring. All good things we hope. That's what I always say anyway...as I buy another lottery ticket!😊 There always has to be something to look forward to or what's the point.  There is so much sadness in the world right now I know. Has there ever been a time when there wasn't any sadness in the world. If there was, I can't remember just when. There are people still preaching the end of the world as we know it and the doomsday clock, as it's called, is ever approaching the bewitching hour. Should we be nervous...should we be scared? I guess so but we seem to have been living "on the edge" for so long now I guess

On a lighter note...

 Do you talk to your pet? Of course you do, everyone does, although some would not admit to it 😃 "How did you sleep?...have any dreams?" I ask as I uncover my parrot...YES parrot!! I know..I know..but we all do it 😏 "Just going out now...see you soon", as I leave the apartment, I call to a bewildered looking bird alone in her cage..sorry house...don't like the term cage...think I have mentioned that before. On return "Hello love👋👋," and met with screams of welcome home or in bird language it could just  mean ...LET ME OUT.....LET ME OUT you idiot leaving me alone...what are you thinking...expletive..expletive!!  Which of course I obey and once the welcome scratches and more talking has taken place, she takes up residence on the bed...or the lounge...or the drawer, whichever is the preference that moment. It changes constantly and I obey every command.  Well trained...me.. not the bird! Pets...what would life be without them. I know they are sometim
