Invasion Has Begun...


Sadly this is now out of date...only written yesterday...and the drums of war have now begun. We pray for Ukraine🙏

It used to be that the first item on the news was the Corona Virus..or Covid 19.. or one of the other many names this dreadful virus goes by but lately it has been Ukraine the first news item.

I do hope I'm wrong but I have a great sense of foreboding concerning what is happing with Russia and Ukraine at the moment. President Putin is holding all the cards and keeping them close to his chest while closing in on Ukraine on all sides with over 200,000 troops ready, so it seems, to attack at his will.

No one believes this is a "peace keeping force" as President Putin states. No one!

All people want is peace and to live a quiet livable life without the stress of war but it seems it is not to be.

I feel we are on the brink of something that once it starts will be impossible to stop. I do hope I am wrong.

Cyber attacks daily are trying to weaken and frighten the population of Ukraine and cause as much trouble as possible with the banking system there and the general running of the country.

 I admit I am no expert on world affairs and maybe I watch and listen to too much news. I live so far away from what is happening...on the other side of the world in fact, in Australia, but the tentacles of war once started can spread like a cancer so easily I find it frightening. 

With a population of over forty four million people it seems unbelievable that this could touch everyone and cause more refugees fleeing and more deaths than we could ever imagine.

It has been so long since the last war that we do not want another one. Memories are strong with those old enough to know what happened with the invasion of Poland and how quickly and deadly that fateful act spread around the globe.

I am certain China is looking and waiting to see how this current situation progresses and Taiwan will be next to be taken over by them.

Egos and power...

We will see if sanctions being put in place against Russia will be enough to stop President Putin and cause him to have second thoughts about what is most likely in his mind and destined to happen. Somehow I doubt it!

The World waits and hopes 🙏

Cont., An hour after writing these few words it seems the invasion is now on!

We pray for the people of Ukraine...

Trouble at both ends of the scale......

Firstly //    It's called "elder abuse" and it seems to be growing for some unexplainable reason.  In some cases it's neglect...pure and simple... but in most it's stealing money that isn't yours from parents that are not able to look after themselves, or their money, properly. Often without them even knowing until it's far too late. Maybe as money becomes tighter for some...but even then that's no excuse!  Just reading about a case locally where a son living in another state stole...yes stole... over a million dollars from his elderly mother. Transferring the money from her account over a period of a few years and also used her debit card in unauthorised purchases for his own use. Leaving her with very little in her bank account to survive. She had no idea until it was almost all gone. Really who can you trust if you can't trust your own family...beyond belief really isn't it but it seems this is a common occurrence. More common than we think.

Just day dreaming....

  Just a pleasant quiet place I like to sit and ponder on things. Where I've been, where I'm going, you know the usual stuff. Watching the world go by as I sit under the shade of a tree listening to the birds singing and appreciating life around me. It's been a long and often bumpy ride to where I am today and who knows what tomorrow may bring. All good things we hope. That's what I always say anyway...as I buy another lottery ticket!😊 There always has to be something to look forward to or what's the point.  There is so much sadness in the world right now I know. Has there ever been a time when there wasn't any sadness in the world. If there was, I can't remember just when. There are people still preaching the end of the world as we know it and the doomsday clock, as it's called, is ever approaching the bewitching hour. Should we be nervous...should we be scared? I guess so but we seem to have been living "on the edge" for so long now I guess

On a lighter note...

 Do you talk to your pet? Of course you do, everyone does, although some would not admit to it 😃 "How did you sleep?...have any dreams?" I ask as I uncover my parrot...YES parrot!! I know..I know..but we all do it 😏 "Just going out now...see you soon", as I leave the apartment, I call to a bewildered looking bird alone in her cage..sorry house...don't like the term cage...think I have mentioned that before. On return "Hello love👋👋," and met with screams of welcome home or in bird language it could just  mean ...LET ME OUT.....LET ME OUT you idiot leaving me alone...what are you thinking...expletive..expletive!!  Which of course I obey and once the welcome scratches and more talking has taken place, she takes up residence on the bed...or the lounge...or the drawer, whichever is the preference that moment. It changes constantly and I obey every command.  Well trained...me.. not the bird! Pets...what would life be without them. I know they are sometim
