Maskless..First Time In Many Months..

 Yesterday we went shopping...MASKLESS 😲

Yes the rules are now being relaxed but I have to admit it did feel strange after wearing them out for the past eighteen months or so.

I really don't mind wearing a mask out it's really no great hardship.

Some say masks don't work anyway why wear them? N95 masks with AMD Nanofibre filter are trusted by medical professionals world wide. High filtration 99.66%  particle efficiency. Sold in many shops and chemists. I wear an ordinary medical mask but feel quite safe being fully vaccinated plus the booster shot.

What I always ask is why are masks worn in hospital in operating theatres if they don't think they work...even my dentist wears a mask? Maybe not an N95 mask I know and not always just to stop a virus but masks of any style must help and most professionals are fully vaccinated anyway. I suggest those that say masks don't work, before they have an operation next, (hopefully never but then we never know) suggest to the theatre doctors and nurses... please don't wear a mask during my operation because I know they don't work. Just see what they say!

Anyway before I got sidetracked I really think it's far too early to go maskless. There will be more variants; there has to be. I know many of the population are now vaccinated but there are a determined percentage that wont ever "get the jab" and it's those people that will..are..spreading the variants as they mutate amongst the unvaccinated then hit our elderly and those with a compromised immunity.

Hong Kong at the moment is going through a new wave of Covid. 43,093 cases per day. So it is not over yet by a very long way.

New Zealand tried to keep the virus out and it worked for a while..almost two years in fact while the rest of the world suffered and good for them but now, as we are winding down our emergencies here in Australia, they are experiencing ever increasing numbers over 15,000 cases in the last twenty four hours. So as I say this dreaded virus is far from a spent force.

It's the new variants now that we have to watch and wait for. Hopefully there will be a new vaccine..and hopefully also🙏we will beat this once and for all and be maskless for ever.

Or at least until the next virus finds it way to torment us once again one day in the future....

Firstly //    It's called "elder abuse" and it seems to be growing for some unexplainable reason.  In some cases it's neglect...pure and simple... but in most it's stealing money that isn't yours from parents that are not able to look after themselves, or their money, properly. Often without them even knowing until it's far too late. Maybe as money becomes tighter for some...but even then that's no excuse!  Just reading about a case locally where a son living in another state stole...yes stole... over a million dollars from his elderly mother. Transferring the money from her account over a period of a few years and also used her debit card in unauthorised purchases for his own use. Leaving her with very little in her bank account to survive. She had no idea until it was almost all gone. Really who can you trust if you can't trust your own family...beyond belief really isn't it but it seems this is a common occurrence. More common than we think.

Just day dreaming....

  Just a pleasant quiet place I like to sit and ponder on things. Where I've been, where I'm going, you know the usual stuff. Watching the world go by as I sit under the shade of a tree listening to the birds singing and appreciating life around me. It's been a long and often bumpy ride to where I am today and who knows what tomorrow may bring. All good things we hope. That's what I always say anyway...as I buy another lottery ticket!😊 There always has to be something to look forward to or what's the point.  There is so much sadness in the world right now I know. Has there ever been a time when there wasn't any sadness in the world. If there was, I can't remember just when. There are people still preaching the end of the world as we know it and the doomsday clock, as it's called, is ever approaching the bewitching hour. Should we be nervous...should we be scared? I guess so but we seem to have been living "on the edge" for so long now I guess

On a lighter note...

 Do you talk to your pet? Of course you do, everyone does, although some would not admit to it 😃 "How did you sleep?...have any dreams?" I ask as I uncover my parrot...YES parrot!! I know..I know..but we all do it 😏 "Just going out now...see you soon", as I leave the apartment, I call to a bewildered looking bird alone in her cage..sorry house...don't like the term cage...think I have mentioned that before. On return "Hello love👋👋," and met with screams of welcome home or in bird language it could just  mean ...LET ME OUT.....LET ME OUT you idiot leaving me alone...what are you thinking...expletive..expletive!!  Which of course I obey and once the welcome scratches and more talking has taken place, she takes up residence on the bed...or the lounge...or the drawer, whichever is the preference that moment.
