Do we really need it here....

Why do we buy so much bottled drinking water in Australia?

I have no idea but supermarkets are full to overflowing...and it sells in huge quantities!

We have the best water here straight from the tap. I have no idea why we feel the need to buy it. If you want it cold just pop it in the 'fridge. There's so much plastic, more than enough, we don't need more plastic bottles in the world especially here in Oz.

I can understand where the supply is a bit sus and, of course, in less developed countries but not here...not here.

Do we really need water that's millions of years old filtered through geological strata...yes that's what one bottled water provider states. Maybe it's better, I'm not saying it's not, but to me waters water and I'm not really sure our body can tell the difference.

We have water from Italy, Fiji, France, Icelandic Glacial Natural Spring Alkaline water, Poland Spring water, Voss in a beautiful glass bottle from Norway, Perrier Carbonated mineral water. Then there's water treated with ultraviolet light and ozone filtered. ..and don't forget that one that's filtered through geological strata of course.

It's great to have a choice but the air freight alone and the fuel just sending it around the world really doesn't make any sense!

I just googled the number of different brands of water for sale in Australia and there are forty...yes 40!

That's a mixture of imported and plenty that is made...unsure what the word is.. er.. not made... but the correct term "taken from natural sources" here of course.

How did the early settlers survive without bottled water? A mystery indeed.

I'll just stay with good old water from the tap and kept cool in the 'fridge. Suits me just fine 😉
