Ukraine...

Well as the terribly sad situation in Ukraine becomes no clearer and is still muddled in negotiations the screws will be made even tighter against Russia after the latest alleged atrocities and Russia faces global outrage.

As we are all aware by now as Russia troops pulled out of the town of Bucha, outside of Ukraine mass graves were found. It seems many have been tied and shot at close range.

This woman's husband was taken away and shot. Some bodies have been boobytrapped to kill Ukrainian soldiers. This will now galvanise all countries, except the usual couple of course, and will hopefully place even more of a restrictions on sales of oil and gas from Russia.

Still Russia has failed to take any major city in the heart of the country after around six weeks...much to their surprise I'm sure.

Peace talks will now be even more difficult and of course the latest news and photographic evidence has been labelled "fake new" by Russia.

So far over 420 bodies, all civilians. have been found near Kyiv more makeshift burial sites are being discovered daily. Ukraine President Zelenskyy has rightly called these crimes, these deaths, genocide. U.S President Biden repeated his call for a war crimes trial after calling Mr. Putin a war criminal.

Washington would now seek suspension of Russia from the human rights council

Russia, of course, denies ever targeting civilians and still calls this a "special military operation" aimed at "denazifying" Ukraine. If only the people of Russia could see what is happening surely there would be considerable trouble and Putin's reign as President would be at risk.

As news is so restricted within Russia and people are unable to know what is really happening in Ukraine I read recently that people outside are "cold calling" into the country. Just randomly calling people to try to get the news "out there". There seems no other way as all news is state controlled.

We've all seen footage of the port city of Mariupol completely flattened. Sad...just so sad. It all has to be re-built some distant day when this is all over. Where people are still trapped and unable to leave after 5/6 weeks. 

Russia is now organsing  mercenaries from Syria to join in the fighting mostly to intimidate the people of Ukraine painting a picture of ruthless Muslim warlords to arrive and terrorize civilians. 16,000 volunteers are ready to travel and fight. The change of climate could, hopefully, slow them down. From the heat of the Middle East to the depths of a Ukrainian winter...we shall see what happens!

With so many young conscripts killed Russia is hoping the Syrians will fill the void and as I say terrorize the population into submission. The people of Ukraine are made of stronger stuff and doubt if even that will work.

Further sanctions will be in place. More oligarchs yachts, 'plains and homes are being seized around the world. Over 1,000 individuals and entities are being monitored in the UK alone that are closely associated with the government of Russia.  People even recently took over a mansion in central London belonging to one of them.

For President Putin things are not looking good. I'm sure there is pressure from many of his rich and concerned friends....
